Diabetes is not as deadly as heart disease. For many, it’s not as frightening as cancer or some of the other top causes of death. And yet, in some ways, diabetes is more concerning than either of those dreaded diseases: the global prevalence is rising at an alarming rate, and it is already the most expensive chronic disease in the US. So, what are we doing about it? And what steps can you take to control the risk factors?
Join us on Saturday, November 15, at 9 a.m. (ET) for a comprehensive three-hour exploration of diabetes. The session will be led by Dr. Adriana Cortés, Dr. Daniel Chen, and Robby Barbaro, cofounder of the Mastering Diabetes personalized coaching program.
Our medical team will cover the practical steps you can take to support the healthiest outcomes possible, and answer any burning questions you have about diabetes.
How exactly does it develop in the body? What behaviors support insulin sensitivity? How do carbohydrates and fats contribute to the disease’s development?
How can you use diet, other lifestyle factors, and the wider environment to reduce your chances of developing not only diabetes but also prediabetes?
Why is diabetes less common in some cultures than others? What can we learn from places where incidence rates are lower?
What are the current preferred medical treatments for diabetes, and how effective are they? How can you treat diabetes with lifestyle instead?
