Instructor

Gabe Canales

Gabe Canales was diagnosed with prostate cancer at age 35, despite having no symptoms or family history of the disease. His diagnosis—and the confusion, stigma, and lack of resources that followed—led him to launch Blue Cure, a nonprofit dedicated to educating and empowering men to take charge of their health through prevention, early detection, and lifestyle changes. Rather than rush into surgery, Gabe chose active surveillance and made significant lifestyle changes, focusing on nutrition, exercise, and stress management. He completed the Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition through the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and later interviewed Dr. Campbell for the Blue Cure Men’s Health Podcast. Gabe has authored a book, delivered a TEDx Talk, appeared on national and local media, and traveled to over 40 cities leading the Blue Cure Men’s Health Tour. Through the Blue Cure Men’s Health Podcast, he interviews leading urologists, lifestyle medicine pioneers, researchers, and patient advocates to educate and inspire healthier lives.
