Ramona Baptiste, a former Chicago resident now living in Indiana, is a retired AT&T employee with thirty-four years of service. She graduated from the culinary arts school at the Illinois Institute of Art, Chicago, in 2007. Because of her love of food and passion to help others, she created Chef in the Hood in 2009. Her extensive food journey and health issues helped her realize that a whole food, plant-based (WFPB) lifestyle could save her and others in underserved communities. This realization led her to do food demonstrations at farmers’ markets, health fairs, and schools. She is also creating her own vegetable seasoning called Monas Motley Mix. Her goal is to be a vendor at many local farmers' markets next year.
