Beth Brothers is the health coordinator for the Springfield School District in southern Vermont. She has worked in the district since 2017, and she leads efforts to prevent substance abuse and improve the health and wellness of students and staff. She also leads the district’s wellness committee. She received a B.A. from Castleton State College in 2009. Prior to coming to Springfield School District, she worked in mental health and in health care workforce development.

For far too long, children in this community have been establishing lifelong habits and preferences that involve more processed foods and fewer fruits and vegetables; by encouraging them to try a variety of fruits and vegetables, and by increasing nutrition education in their classrooms, we hope to help establish lifelong habits of health instead.
