Columbus D. Batiste, MD, FACC, is a board-certified interventional cardiologist, Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California Riverside School of Medicine, and Regional Chief of Cardiology for Southern California Permanente Medical Group. Dr. Batiste led a group that collaborated with Samsung Technologies and developed a virtual cardiac rehabilitation program utilizing a Samsung wearable; since its launch, the program, which applies lifestyle principles, has treated over 15,000 patients. He collaborated to form a non-profit organization called the Healthy Heart Nation, and he has lectured in multiple countries regarding the power of lifestyle centered on whole food, plant-based nutrition. Dr. Batiste’s first book, entitled SELFish: A Cardiologist’s Guide to Healing a Broken Heart, was published in 2024.
