Laura Valero is a plant-based nurse practitioner in a small primary care clinic in Virginia. She received her T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate in 2017, and she will be taking the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine’s exam in December 2021 so that she can practice as a Lifestyle Medicine professional. She also did an observational rotation at the Barnard Medical Center in Washington, DC, an organization that is a trailblazer in lifestyle medicine. She gives talks in her local community on plants as medicine, the Blue Zones, and the link between animal production and environmental damage.
