Beet Marinara Sauce

1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

¼ cup beets, shredded

¼ cup carrots, shredded

1 Tbsp Italian herbs

¼ cup fresh basil, chopped

1 In a medium saucepan combine all the ingredients, except the basil.

2 Bring to a low boil.

3 Cook for 10 minutes.

4 Add basil and serve.

Serve this marinara sauce with pasta or use in any recipe that calls for Italian red sauce.
