Cranberry Cherry Sauce

What You'll Need
6 Medjool dates, pitted
1 (12-ounce) bag cranberries, rinsed and drained
1 cup frozen dark sweet cherries
1 Tbsp orange zest
1 cinnamon stick
¼ tsp ground ginger
¼ tsp nutmeg
¼ tsp allspice
1 cup orange juice

How to Make It
1 Soak the dates in hot water until softened, about 1 hour.
2 In a large saucepan over medium heat, add the cranberries, dark cherries, orange zest, and spices.
3 Drain the soaked dates and add to a blender with orange juice. Process until smooth, and pour blend into the saucepan.
4 Adjust the heat to medium-high until the cranberries begin to pop, then reduce to a slow simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5 Remove from heat and allow to cool. The sauce will thicken as it cools.
6 Adjust seasoning to taste. For a sweeter sauce, add a few more cherries or blend another date.
